Best Practices for Trails
Signage & Materials
Print QR codes on weather-rated vinyl or aluminum plates. Add “Scan for story” language so visitors know what to expect.
Ordered vs. Freestyle
For hikes and tours, enable “ordered completion” so the app confirms stops in sequence. For scavenger hunts, keep it flexible.
Surface Shortcuts
Add trail maps or directions to the intro body so late arrivals can catch up quickly.
Reward Trigger
Use the completion message to reveal a prize code, secret word, or next-step instructions.
Share the Experience
Print the QR for each checkpoint from the QR Codes grid. If you want a single “Start Here” sign, create a short-link QR that redirects to the first checkpoint slug. Visitors can also scan any stop directly to join mid-trail.
